Abstract

This study aimed to construct and validate guidelines for the selection of Educational Technologies focused on the literacy of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a qualitative-quantitative study based on the Delphi technique, developed in two rounds with specialists in inclusive education, autism, and educational technologies. As a preliminary stage, a systematic literature review was conducted, which supported the development of the initial research instrument. In the first Delphi round, exploratory in nature, 19 specialists participated, whose open-ended responses were submitted to content analysis. In the second round, structured and focused on validation, 16 specialists evaluated the constructed criteria using a five-point Likert scale. The results showed consensus for 26 of the 27 criteria initially proposed, indicating a high level of agreement regarding the aspects considered relevant for the selection of Educational Technologies in the context of literacy for children with ASD. The analysis allowed the organization of the criteria into five thematic dimensions: child profile, cognitive aspects, sensory aspects, communicational aspects, and functional and pedagogical criteria. These results later supported the systematization of nine guiding principles for the selection of these resources. It is concluded that the constructed guidelines have the potential to support teachers and other education professionals in the pedagogical selection of Educational Technologies that are more accessible, intentional, and aligned with the needs of students with ASD in the literacy process.
