MUSIC THERAPY WELCOME IN THE HOSPITAL CONTEXT FROM AN EMANCIPATIONAL PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

Reflecting on health-care from emancipatory perspectives and thinking about the hospitalized subject as active in their processes, the present work aimed to understand music therapy care in the hospital context, know the possibilities and analyze how and if music and its elements can provide it, the starting from the identification of its singularities. This research proposal has an exploratory and qualitative character, and the methodological path was chosen to carry out an integrative review, through a systematic literature search in which a thematic analysis was subsequently carried out. We considered research in Portuguese, English and Spanish, using for the search and inclusion criteria articles published in the last 10 years, with at least one music therapist as author and that move between the themes of reception, care, music therapy and hospital context . We found that practice and health care must, therefore, be based on encounters that enhance existence, providing the subject with an expanded perception of themselves, the world and consequently more autonomy.
