Producciones sonoro-vocales de bebés: una revisión integrativa

La concepción del bebé como protagonista de su propio desarrollo y como poseedor de habilidades comunicativas aún no constituye un consenso en el campo científico. A partir de ese este contexto, el objetivo de este estudio es analizar, mediante una revisión integrativa, cómo las producciones sonoro-vocales de bebés menores de 24 meses han sido presentadas en la literatura científica durante los últimos cinco años. La búsqueda sconsideró el período entre 2020 y julio de 2025 en las bases de datos PubMed, SciELO, APA PsycInfo y Cairn, utilizando los términos “baby” y “vocalizations”. Inicialmente, se identificaron 558 artículos, de los cuales 45 cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y conformaron el corpus final de la revisión. Se observó un predominio de publicaciones provenientes de instituciones norteamericanas y redactadas en lengua inglesa, con una mayor concentración de estudios observacionales y longitudinales. Basado em el análisis de los textos, los artículos fueron organizados en dos categorías temáticas, considerando los objetivos y las características metodológicas: (1) características de la producción sonoro-vocal y (2) contexto socioambiental. Los resultados indicaron que, en su mayoría, las producciones sonoro-vocales de los bebés continúan siendo comprendidas como precursoras del habla. Aunque parte de los estudios reconoce al bebé como participante activo en el proceso comunicativo, aún son pocos los enfoques que legitiman sus producciones como lenguaje dotado de expresividad propia. Se concluye que la temática requiere avances teóricos y metodológicos que sostengan al bebé como protagonista de los procesos comunicativos.
