Diretrizes para Dossiê
The Journal Educação e Linguagens, through the publication of thematic issues, aims to foster qualified debate and interaction among researchers from different Graduate Programs in Education in Brazil and abroad. The issues bring together investigations that address relevant themes, subjects, and problems in the field of Brazilian Education.
Modalities for Organizing Thematic Issues
The Journal adopts two forms for proposing and organizing thematic issues:
Modality 1: Issue by Initiative of the Editorial Team
The Editorial Team is responsible for defining the theme, coordinating, and managing all editorial processes of the issue.
All decisions, from topic selection to final publication, are made exclusively by the Editorial Team. External researchers may be invited to participate in the organization, at the discretion of the Team.
The Journal prepares and publicizes the call for papers, opening the submission process. Manuscripts must be submitted directly through the Journal's System.
Modality 2: Issue Proposed by the Scientific Community
Two types of proposals are accepted, both managed by external researchers who will serve as Guest Editors, under the guidance and supervision of a Journal Editor:
Option A: Open Thematic Proposal
Must contain a title, a clear description, and the justification of its scientific and/or social relevance for the Brazilian context.
The issue must be organized by a trio of researchers (Guest Editors), all affiliated with different institutions, with the mandatory inclusion of at least one researcher of Brazilian nationality.
Responsibilities of the Guest Editors:
-
Write the call for papers in Portuguese, Spanish, and English (subject to approval by the Journal's Editors-in-Chief).
-
Write the text for the Issue's Introduction.
-
Monitor the review and layout flow of approved articles and give final approval for publication.

Option B: Complete Proposal with Invited Articles
Must include the presentation and justification of the theme, the abstracts of all articles that will comprise the issue, and the brief curriculum vitae of the proposers and each of the invited authors.
If the proposal is approved, each invited article will be submitted individually to the regular peer-review process and may, or may not, be recommended for publication.
Writing the text for the Issue's Introduction is the responsibility of the organizers.

General Composition and Scope Guidelines
Thematic issue proposals must be submitted on the Journal Educação e Linguagens website. The decision on accepting the proposal is the sole responsibility of the Editorship.
The issue must consist of a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 articles, excluding the other regular sections of the Journal.
Diversity Requirements:
-
The articles must demonstrate institutional and regional diversity.
-
There must be at least one article authored (or co-authored) by a researcher with a foreign institutional affiliation.
-
The maximum limit for articles by authors affiliated with the State University of Paraná (UNESPAR) is 20% of the total approved articles.
All articles must be the result of research and have a close relationship with the central theme of the issue, contributing to the deepening of the theme through the diversity of theoretical-methodological approaches, time frames, and spatial scales.
Formatting Guidelines and Languages:
-
Manuscripts must strictly follow the Journal's Author Guidelines and be written using the template.
-
Articles are accepted in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
-
Articles in a foreign language must be submitted with a signed statement from the specialist who performed the proper language review.
The organizer is allowed to submit one article for the issue. However, they cannot, under any circumstances, manage or interfere in the evaluation process of this article, which will be under the responsibility of the Journal Editor.
Articles that are approved and suitable for the Journal's Editorial Line, but which cannot be included in the thematic issue due to regional diversity or endogeneity criteria, may be directed to the Free Articles section in future issues, subject to the author's interest and the editors' judgment.
The Thematic Issue will be published alongside articles from the Free Articles section, in accordance with the Journal's Editorial Line.
Both proposal modalities, along with their respective forms, must be submitted to the Editorial Team at the following email address: revista.educacaoelinguagens@unespar.edu.br
