Present study resulted of a teaching experience, developed with sixth grade students from a public school of São Mateus city in the north of Espírito Santo State, which analysed the construction of temporality notions by materiality. Using a Research - action method, we consider the construction process of historical temporary museum made by historical familiar sources and we investigated, through application of teaching interventions, how the construction of temporality notions was made using the materiality like a teaching resource. The conclusion could be obtained that application of concrete resources, historical documents transformed in teaching resources, like mediators in the construction of historical abstract concept, as the temporary notions, presented a great potential like a teaching strategy, since the students participate in the whole process of conceptual constrution didn’t receiving the done concepts.
