Vórtex Music Journal operates with two CHIEF EDITORS. The responsibilities of the CHIEF EDITORS include implementing the editorial policy, supervising the editorial process and the journal's relations with authors, referees, readers, indexers, research support agencies, the scientific community and the general public. The prerogatives and responsibilities of the editors are:
- Work with integrity and confidentiality in relation to the work submitted.
- Decide whether or not to publish a paper based on its originality, clarity, relevance to the academic community and in consultation with the reviewers.
- Maintaining an up-to-date database with information on reviewers, as well as finding potential new reviewers.
- Establishing partnerships with funding agencies, research institutions and associations, as well as leading researchers, to organize themed issues and/or special dossiers.
- Maintaining up-to-date communication with authors, reviewers and the general public.
- Maintaining the journal's publication frequency and informing repositories and indexers about the publication of new volumes.
- Managing the correct functioning of the OJS platform on which the journal is operated.
The EDITORIAL BOARD of Vórtex Music Journal is made up of experienced researchers from different countries who propose the structure and policies of the journal, working directly with the editors. Each member is recognized in their field, has experience in their field of research and is responsible for the following contributions to the journal:
- Identifying possible topics for future thematic dossiers.
- Advising on the journal's political and ethical guidelines.
- Occasionally submitting articles for publication.
- Inviting researchers with potential to contribute.
- Identifying possible ad hoc evaluators.
- Evaluating submitted work, especially when there is a conflict between evaluators.
The editorial board is renewed periodically, always with national and international members.
Vórtex's ADVISORY BOARD is made up of experienced researchers from different countries, who help evaluate the work submitted. This board is renewed every two or three years, ensuring the continued presence of both national and international members. The responsibilities of the advisory board include:
- Assessing the quality and relevance of submitted work.
- Providing detailed and constructive feedback to authors.
- Contributing suggestions for the continuous improvement of the journal's editorial policies and practices.
In addition to the advisory board, we also work with AD HOC REVIEWERS. These are researchers invited to evaluate specific texts, who are not part of the advisory board, but who make a significant contribution to the review process. Ad hoc reviewers receive credit for their participation and are selected on the basis of their expertise in the area of the submitted work.
