ABORDAGEM DO CONCEITO DE FUNÇÃO EXPONENCIAL E QUADRÁTICA A PARTIR DE INVESTIGAÇÕES MATEMÁTICAS

The article analyzes the contributions of a mathematical investigation activity, based on manipulable materials and digital technologies, to the development of the concept of quadratic and exponential functions. The study was carried out in the context of a set of 16 classroom hours of Programa de Residência Pedagógica (PRP), held in a class from the first year of Ensino Médio Integrado ao Curso Técnico em Alimentos of a federal public school in western Santa Catarina. The empirical material consisted of written records produced by the students and the researchers; pictures made during the development of the research activities. The qualitative analysis evidenced contributions from investigative activities in two perspectives: development of mathematical thinking in relation to the properties and representations of the quadratic and exponential functions; articulation of strategies and resources to address these mathematical curriculum topics.
