About the Journal

Education and Languages Journal (ISSN 2238-6084) is a continuously published, open-access electronic journal affiliated with the Pedagogy and Modern Languages programs of the State University of Paraná (UNESPAR), Campo Mourão Campus. The journal has been published without interruption since 2012. It accepts submissions of empirical research, experience reports, systematic and literature reviews, as well as book reviews, interviews, and thematic dossiers. The journal charges no fees for article submission, processing, or publication. It holds a Qualis A3 rating in the CAPES evaluation and is indexed in national and international databases in Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0.

Mission

To promote and disseminate interdisciplinary scientific production in the fields of Education, Linguistics, and Literature, fostering qualified academic debate and the advancement of knowledge. We are committed to open access, epistemological diversity, and innovation in research and teaching practices.

Objectives:

  • To establish and maintain high editorial standards, ensuring the publication of original, relevant, and peer-reviewed articles.

  • To provide a platform for the dissemination of national and international research that contributes to the theoretical and practical development in the fields of Education, Linguistics, and Literature.

  • To ensure equity and the inclusion of emerging themes and plural approaches, expanding the representativeness of diverse voices and contexts in the journal.

  • To encourage critical debate on central issues impacting the fields of Education and Language Studies, connecting research, teaching, and society.

Focus and Scope

The Journal's scope is focused on the major fields of knowledge in Humanities and Linguistics, Languages and Arts, with an emphasis on Education, Linguistics and Languages and their more specific thematic developments.
Its policy is to catalyze and disseminate academic research carried out by researchers from universities and higher education institutions in Brazil and abroad, which contribute to the development of theories and practices, provided they are articulated with one of the Journal's central areas.
As part of its internationalization policy, starting in 2025 the journal will accept submissions in Portuguese, English, or Spanish for continuous publication.

Periodicity

As of 2025, the Revista Educação e Linguagens has adopted a continuous publication system, with an annual volume that also includes special issues. The journal charges no submission or publication fees, guaranteeing full open access and permitting public sharing of all its articles.

Charging of Fees

We are a public, non-profit educational institution. The Journal Educação e Linguagens does not charge article processing charges (APC) or submission fees, providing all content free of charge (Open Access). As an open-access publication, all texts are available for reading, downloading, copying, distribution, printing, searching, or linking, and may be used for any lawful purpose without prior authorization from the author or the editor. This policy follows the principles of open access established by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

Journal History

Published since 2012, the Journal of Educação e Linguagens was created linked to the Pedagogy and Languages Programs of UNESPAR, Campo Mourão Campus, with the objective of establishing a proper and qualified channel for the dissemination of the program's academic production and that of the scientific community in general.
Over the years, the journal has established itself as a reference publication in its field, expanding its editorial board, its pool of reviewers, and its presence in national and international indexers. Its trajectory is marked by the transition to an exclusively online format, the adoption of a continuous flow system, and an uninterrupted commitment to quality and open access to knowledge.
