This article investigates the pedagogical potential of the series Sex Education in raising teachers' awareness of gender and sexuality issues in school environments, with an emphasis on addressing violence experienced by LGBTQIAPN+ students. The research, conducted with Art teachers from the Regional Education Center of Guarapuava (PR), employed focus groups to explore teachers' perceptions of media representations and their relation to educational practices. Grounded in cultural pedagogies, the analysis of the discussions highlighted both cultural and institutional resistances as well as the transformative potential of audiovisual narratives in teacher training. The findings reveal that the series fosters critical reflections and contributes to the development of more inclusive pedagogical practices, although its use requires preparation and institutional support.
