The global COVID-19 pandemic has required new structures and practices to execute the teaching-learning process in educational institutions. This study, whose main objective aims to unveil and describe the impact of this movement in the pedagogical practices implemented by mathematics teachers in primary education, is relevant in the current context. Thus, a qualitative study was conducted in a private school situated in South Minas Gerais, with approximately 500 students. Six teachers were interviewed. The reports obtained during the interviews were analyzed through coding. The results show evidence of the difficulties related to the shortage of material resources and the precariousness of qualification for using technological resources available to teach classes. Furthermore, they show that teachers acknowledge that this context enables the acquisition of new knowledge, the redefinition of the teaching-learning process, and, as a result, the future modification of classroom teaching methods.
