In this work we analyze the level 3 tests, applied in the first phase of the Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad of Public and Private Schools (OBMEP) in the period from 2005 to 2019 and we are interested, as the focus of the research, in the basic mathematical structuring content. We pursue this objective with the interrogation: how is the presence of the structuring content of Basic Education revealed in the tests of the first phase, of level 3, of the Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad of Public and Private Schools? The study followed a qualitative, documentary approach and considered both the statement of questions and the respective resolutions for analysis. From this proceeding, it is possible to infer that the presence of the structuring contents of Basic Education in the OBMEP tests, in the aforementioned period, proves to be plural, partially and timidly interrelated. The fields of Arithmetic and Algebra are predominant in the tests, followed by Geometry and Statistics. There are signs of mismatches between what is proposed in the official documents and what is presented in the OBMEP tests, with regard to mathematical content, which can promote a certain disharmony between what is taught in schools and what is required in the assessments.
