Abstract

A thesis defended at the University of Murcia investigates the concept of “cognitive sublime” and its impact on aesthetic experience and child learning. The author argues that the experience of the sublime, marked by contradictory emotions, can catalyze children’s curiosity and imagination, promoting the construction of meaning. The research integrates philosophical reflections, neuroaesthetics, and constructivist psychology to highlight the importance of the sublime in education. Battista proposes that pedagogical strategies leveraging this aesthetic experience can enrich the teaching-learning process. Thus, the thesis emphasizes the transformative potential of cognitive sublime in the educational environment.
