Abstract

The present article establishes a connection between the constraints that restrict women, both physically, through objective representations of the imprisoned body, and subjectively, through limitations imposed on their capacity for action, thought, and expression of sexuality. To this end, the works of writer and filmmaker Virginie Despentes and artists Roberta Barros, Michaela Stark, Hans Bellman, and Unica Zurn are explored. The analysis highlights the persistence of erotic fantasies depicting women's submission to men as a means of suppressing their feminine power. Even in today's world, women continue to struggle against the objectification of their bodies, as female characters still predominantly occupy secondary roles in a patriarchal society. In parallel, it is observed that many women subject their bodies to aesthetic interventions, submitting to procedures that often become obsolete in the face of new fashion trends. Additionally, many opt for footwear that hinders mobility and clothing that compromises their respiratory health. Thus, an intertwining of artistic representations, sexuality, and feminism is explored.
