In this paper we analyze the sixth edition of FIDÉ-Brasil, held in May 2022. However, our study does not take the festival as a whole, as it is not a study of the institution itself, a historiography of the event or a work with sociopolitical and economic issues that cross the festival, but rather with the articulations, strategies, organization and performance of the sixth edition of this ritual through an ethnographic approach. This research involved more than just observing and taking notes in a field diary, or merely taking those who are part of the organization, curatorship and programming of the festival to be interviewed, even though these are also techniques articulated for the production of this work. Our approach is based on a research that involves at the same time a participant observation in the curatorship, in the workshops and in the multiple exhibition sessions of the event, as well as interviews with the event organizers, leading members of the curatorial teams and the public participating in the festival. Filmic materialities are also taken for study thus trying to correlate ritual performance with the artistic objects under which the festival is also anchored.
