O Programa PARFOR: uma análise segundo a percepção de gestores escolares de Manacapuru-AM

Abstract

Teacher training for Basic Education is essential for improving the quality of education. This article aimed to analyze the importance of implementing educational public policies aimed at teacher education. The study focuses on the National Plan for the Training of Teachers of Basic Education (PARFOR). The aim of this research was to identify how the PARFOR program contributed to the training of teachers in the municipality of Manacapuru - AM, through the analysis of evidence obtained from data collected through interviews with school managers in the urban area of the municipality, and the use of content analysis. It was concluded that, according to the view of school managers, there is a great contribution generated by PARFOR to the training of teachers in the municipality of Manacapuru, which in addition to the knowledge provided, contributed to improving the quality of classes, contributed to school management, motivated teachers in relation to academic career and raised their self-esteem.

Graduated in Economic Sciences from the Federal University of Viçosa (1984), Master's degree in Rural Economics from the Federal University of Viçosa (1993) and PhD in Applied Economics from ESALq/University of São Paulo (2000). Director of the Institute of Public Policy and Sustainable Development (IPPDS)(2012-2016). Member of the National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Administration (ANPAD) and Theme Leader of the Academic Division of APB of ANPAD in the biennium 2015-2018. Member of the Scientific Committee of the Academic Division - APB- Public Administration of ANPAD. Member of the Fiscal Council of the Brazilian Society of Public Administration - SBAP. Member of the Public Policy Evaluation and Monitoring Network. Member of the GIGAPP Community ? Research Group in Gobierno, Administación y Politicas Públicas (Madrid, Spain). He has experience in the area of Administration, working mainly in the line of public policies research, with research in the thematic areas: Public Administration; Public Policies; Agenda, Formulation, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Policies; Development.
