he text presents the results of a bibliographic research on the relationship between ethnic-racial diversity, in light of the implementation of Law 10.639/2003 in high school education in southern Brazil. The objective is to analyze how the theses and dissertations defended between 2014 and 2024 in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) address these topics. The guiding question of the article is: how is the issue of ethnic-racial diversity in high school education in southern Brazil addressed in theses and dissertations over the past 10 years? The research uses a bibliographic approach, utilizing the descriptors “High School,” “Law 10.639/03,” “ethnic-racial diversity,” “Paraná,” “Santa Catarina,” and “Rio Grande do Sul.” The results show that, out of a total of 8 dissertations found, 6 were defended in Paraná and 2 in Rio Grande do Sul, with no research recorded from the state of Santa Catarina. Although no theses were located, the dissertations offer important contributions to the debate on ethnic-racial relations in the school context, varying in objectives and methods. The final considerations point to advances in students' critical training, teaching materials, school staff, and the fight against racism, but also reveal the persistence of stereotypes and the need for greater investment in public policies for more effective implementation of Law 10.639/03.
