Abstract

This article discusses two woodcuts by artist Geraldo Trindade Leal (1927-2013) that depict rural scenes from his childhood and homeland, with great simplicity through his scratched lines with wood carvings, in figures of the Gaucho Pampas, horses, sheep, and cowboys in an expressionist configuration. In other words, his figures generated a series of woodcuts in the 1960s that clearly demonstrate the importance given to the work of the Gaucho cowboy. His woodcuts are mirrors of the reality of the Gaucho Pampas and its people.
