Abstract

This article analyzes the graphic narrative Ajuricaba, by Ademar Vieira and Jucylande Júnior, in dialogue with the autoethnography The Fall of Heaven by Davi Kopenawa and Bruce Albert, in which it proposes a web of relationships that emphasizes the complexity and interdependence of the elements that dialogue in both works. Criticism of development and globalization, as well as the coloniality of power, are central themes that converge in the struggle that exists in Ajuricaba's graphic narrative. As such, Escobar (2005) and Quijano (2005) were used as theoretical contributions to this article.
