Archive and time in contemporary artistic production

Abstract

This text proposes to reflect on ways of appropriating the archive based on six artistic works. It starts with a theoretical discussion about archive and temporality through the authors Derrida, Koselleck and Samain and montage as Warburg's method to go through and present the works “Bibliotheca” (1992-2002) by Rosângela Rennó, “88 from 14.000” (2005) by Alice Miceli, “Aberto pela Aduana” (2019) and “Boa Aparência” (2000) by Eustáquio Neves and Baby in belly (2020) and Woman with a book, (2020) by Frida Orupabo and friction with the concepts about archive and time presented, in order to understand the ways of resignification and how the use of archives constitutes each work.

Keith Valéria Tito, Universidade de Goiás - Programa de Pós-graduação em Arte e Cultura Visual

 Doutoranda em Arte e Cultura Visual pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (FAV-UFG) com pesquisa financiada pela CAPES. Mestre (UFG), bacharel e licenciada (PUC-GO) em História. Atuou como diretora do Museu da Imagem e do Som de Goiás. Atuou como Gerente de Museus, Bibliotecas, Instituto Goiano do Livro e Arquivo Histórico. Possui experiência em gestão de museus, gestão de acervos museológicos, conservação fotográfica e pesquisa histórica.

Atualmente é docente do Programa de Pós-graduação em Comunicação (PPGCOM/UFG) e da Graduação em Comunicação Social – Publicidade e Propaganda. Doutora em História (FH-UFG) com doutorado sanduíche na École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). Mestre em Arte e Cultura Visual (FAV/UFG) e Graduada em Comunicação Social  - Publicidade e Propaganda (FIC/UFG). Vice-coordenadora do Núcleo de Pesquisa em Teoria da Image (UFG/Cnpq).
