This scientific research addresses the Brazilian national culture structuring, as well as the formation of ballet in our country. The research problem is how Brazilian national culture formation and national identity reflect on the development of ballet in Brazil, at the beginning of the 20th century. This article portrays the relationships established between national identity conception and its influences on the formation of Brazilian ballet; compares the speed at which factual changes occurred in the early 20th century and the differences between the speed of these changes in modernity, based on the concept of liquid modernity brought to us by Bauman (2001), and the relationships that were built through organizational logics elaborated by Bunge (2003). The methodology is structured through bibliographical research which it was possible to associate theories of several authors, obtaining a deeper cultural construction understanding and its reflections on ballet in Brazil.
