Este artigo contesta a antiga crença de que só é possível pensar por meio de palavras, empregando informações provenientes das neurociências, para demonstrar que o conhecimento humano não depende unicamente da linguagem verbal, sendo construído a partir das percepções, sensações, como também por meio de linguagens não verbais, como as relacionadas à imagem, som, movimento e tatilidade.
