O presente artigo é parte dos estudos que investiga o papel da Arte na concepção pedagógica de Erasmo Pilotto (1910-1992) - intele ctual paranaense responsável por articular as ideias do Movimento pela Escola Nova no Paraná. O recorte do artigo analisa a prática pedagógica de Pilotto e a valorização dada ao contato da criança com o objeto artístico na Escola Moderna Dario Vellozo - instituição de caráter experimental que serviu de laboratório ao intelectual.
