Cinematography – the manner in which the cinematic narrative is constructed through shots, framing, camera angles, movements and depth of field – will be addressed here having as a goal the documentary Santiago: reflections on the raw material (João Moreira Salles, 2007) with a focus on the expression of the director's ideas and the feelings of the portrayed Character. We will also inquire with aspects of staging, such as the building of fictional scenes for the expression of subjectivities. In the reflection on cinematography, we will make use of the concept of mise-en-scène by David Bordwell and Kristin Thompson (2013), involving all the technical-stylistic procedures that materialize on the screen a cinematographic narrative.
