This article studies the cinematography of the feature film Enigmas no rolê (2024), by Ulisver Silva and cinematography by Deivison Pedrê. Enigmas no rolê (2024) brings together a set of significant elements to think about blackness – through dialogues with various Afro-urban languages, such as hip hop, RAP, pixo and graffiti – in the recent context of cinematographic production in Mato Grosso do Sul. In this sense, such elements are used to construct an aesthetic of entanglement that unfolds in the potential of the two characters, Edinho and Eduarda, to solve problems. Plasticity gains body on the screen with the use of split screen, animations and in the solutions of the cinematography with the construction of atmospheres and the use of telephoto lenses with the aim of transmitting the texture of Edinho and Eduarda's reasoning. This weaving translates into the spatial perception of the bodies (BRUNO, 2002) and reveals the field of vision of the two characters, allowing us to enter the internal landscapes of the challenges as inflection points in the film.
