Abstract

The article "Popular Education and Social Movements: Rebuilding the Social Fabric Amid Hegemonic Exclusion," authored by Raquel Alves Pinheiro, explores the intersection of traditional education and technological advancements in contemporary society. Amid rapid changes in information and communication technologies (ICTs), popular education is portrayed as a crucial strategy to revitalize pedagogical methods, foster holistic individual development, and address exclusion in the digital age.

The article emphasizes that popular education, through active participation, horizontal dialogue, and contextualization, complements traditional teaching. In this context, technology is seen as both a challenge and an opportunity. Popular education aims to empower individuals to critically comprehend the societal impact of technology and conscientiously employ it to effect transformation.
