Abstract

This research, developed in 2016, aimed at diagnosing and analyzing the training needs of teachers of a Municipal School of Elementary Education, particularly in Geography. Based on a quali-quantitative perspective, it contemplated bibliographical research and questionnaire. The results indicated that teachers are interested in continuing education processes, which should be based on theory and practice. They also revealed that all the teachers of the partner school teach their students Geography content, m ainly using the textbook. They also showed that the contents of Cartography are considered by expressive part of the teachers as the most difficult to be taught.
