In this text I intend to deepen reflections on the political dimensions of musical improvisation, taking as a reference the teaching and research activities that I have been developing in the Department of Music at the University of São Paulo for over 20 years, mainly through the practices developed with Orquestra Errante. The proposal is to investigate how improvisation can work as a political action against forms of oppression that occur in contemporary society, fighting exclusion, racism and patriarchy. To carry out this task, I establish dialogues with decolonial, afrological and feminist perspectives and theories.
