ADAPTAÇÃO CRIATIVA NAS IMAGENS DO TARÔ DO TERREIRO DE UMBANDA PAI MANECO

Abstract

The Terreiro Pai Maneco Tarot, which images were created by me, is composed of twenty-two Major Arcana cards and a joker card. The objective of this article is to present parts of the creation process in which I identify the spiritual action/inspiration. To do so, I raise questions about the forms of communication between the sacred and religiosity (ELIADE and HOOKS), highlight characteristics of creative translation processes (CAMPOS, PLAZA and SCHNAIDERMAN) and shed light on the value of doubt in contemporary poetic processes (FERVENZA, SALLES and TESSLER). I wonder about the sign transit identified in the creation of digital paintings, considering the importance of this act in the dissemination of an Afro-Indigenous-Brazilian religion. From the perspective of an engaged and loving critique (HOOKS), I believe in deepening dialogic relationships with spiritual entities through the paintings and the brief interpretation of the cards. The research arising from the creation of the Tarot is justified by the respect for magical ancestry and appreciation of the diversity of non-hegemonic beliefs, basic elements for the enhancement of decolonial approach in Brazilian culture and art.
