Playing, inventing and bodily rewriting other ways and worlds of being and being within the educational environment and in life, this research aims to investigate frevo and play as pedagogical tools in dance training. Developed in the context of the Mandatory Supervised Internship II, carried out in 2023 in the Dance Degree course at the State University of Paraná, the research had as its field of study the social capoeira project Claridade Noturna. From this space of collective learning, the fusion between frevo dance and capoeira was the basis for artistic-pedagogical practices. The study moves between different dimensions – social, educational and cultural – connecting the playful universe of carnival, the historical resistance of Afro-Brazilian peoples and the affective and community relationships established in art and education. Proposing play as an emancipatory methodology, capable of redefining the learning of dance and expanding the possibilities of creation and expression of bodies and minds.
