This paper deals with the relationship between teacher training in dance at the Rio de Janeiro Federal University and the Panorama Festival. The text describes and analyses the importance of bringing dance teachers-in-training closer to artistic creation in dance in schools, as a central part of their educational process. Issues related to the insertion and execution of the mandatory supervised internship (Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório, ESO) in dance in primary education schools motivated the overseeing professors to search for other work possibilities. The partnership with Panorama Festival at schools revealed itself as an enriching opportunity, offering teachers-in-training the experience of activities as cultural mediators, with a significant impact in their learning and the construction of their pedagogical practices.
