This article aims to explore a peculiar form of access to associations, particularly through the notion of communities, using field entry strategies in the investigative context of the Cia Masculina de Dança Jair Moraes—the subject of my doctoral research conducted at the Department of Sociology of the Federal University of Paraná. The narrative of this text intertwines with the itineraries of the ongoing research. The modes of dialogue with interlocutors have created a unique network, allowing access to an aspect of the institutional world that is not perceived through its dispositional structure, challenging certain regularities in favor of agency and the reflective potential of its actors. These different perspectives on the debate about communities weave together diverse approaches and entry points, shaping a relevant notion for the production of a heuristic framework. This framework gains vitality as we penetrate the labyrinth of its relations, crafting an analytical model through the assemblage of voices within this arena.
