Geometry plays an essential role in the development of spatial thinking and in understanding the relationships between shapes and figures, becoming a challenging content, requiring creative and engaging pedagogical approaches. Therefore, this article aims to present some contributions that children's literature and recreational activities promoted in the process of mathematical literacy in early childhood education, exploring the content of plane figures and geometric solids. The methodology that guided the research was based on the theoretical framework and on the experience report. The activity was developed in a group of 18 students from Early Childhood Education, with children aged between 5 and 6 years old. As a result, we understand that the proposed interdisciplinary approach had the potential to enrich the teaching of geometry, making it more contextualized and meaningful for children. In addition, the connection between geometry and children's literature can stimulate children's creativity, imagination, and critical thinking.
