Abstract

Special Education, from the perspective of inclusive education, constitutes an essential public policy to guarantee access, permanence, participation, and learning for students who are the target audience of Special Education. In this context, Specialized Educational Services (AEE) plays a strategic role by offering complementary pedagogical support to regular education. This study aimed to analyze the organization and functioning of Specialized Educational Services in a Territorial Center for Professional Education in the state network of Bahia, seeking to understand its challenges and contributions to school inclusion. This is qualitative research, developed through document analysis and semi-structured interviews with teachers working in AEE. The results showed that the service contributes to the promotion of autonomy, participation, and learning of students, in addition to favoring the articulation between the different actors involved in the educational process. However, challenges persist related to the continuing education of teachers, the strengthening of collaborative work, and the expansion of pedagogical and accessibility resources. It is concluded that the implementation of inclusive education in Vocational and Technological Education depends on the articulation between public policies, school management, teachers, families, and professionals in Specialized Educational Services, strengthening pedagogical practices committed to guaranteeing the right to quality education for all.
