This study investigated the perception and use of digital media and technologies by teachers at a Basic Education School in Rio Rufino, SC, highlighting the transformative potential of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICT) in education. Through a qualitative approach using questionnaires, the study revealed that, while these technologies are present, there is an urgent need for ongoing training. This training should not only cover technical usage but also support the development of innovative pedagogical methodologies. Teachers expressed interest in collaborating on specific training proposals that address their demands for in-depth DICT training. The research results reinforce the importance of public policies to promote digital inclusion and improve technological infrastructure in schools, ensuring continuous support and equal access to technology. These findings contribute to enhancing pedagogical practices and guiding the development of more inclusive and contemporary educational strategies.
