Competências de Pesquisa de Professores-Pesquisadores do Ensino Superior: uma discussão teórica

The aim of this article was to discuss the research competence of higher education professors-researchers. A narrative review of the literature was conducted and the Model of Professional Competences for Higher Education Professors (MPCHE) was adopted as a guide. Competence is understood as a system of conceptual and procedural knowledge, organized in operational schemes, which allow, in relation to a family of situations, the identification of a problem task and its resolution through effective action. Research competence can be described as the mastery of research approaches, methods and techniques and respect for the object/subject of research. Based on the literature studied, 16 capabilities related to research competence are proposed. It is suggested that an instrument for measuring competences be validated, proposed based on the authors presented in this text, as well as others to be identified in the specialized literature later.
