Abstract

University extension is a process that promotes a transformative interaction between the university and the community in which it is embedded. In this context, schools present themselves as ideal places for these educational activities aimed at scientific dissemination in science education, especially when referring to the public that attends them. Despite this remarkable potential, there are many barriers to scientific dissemination in schools, such as the lack of adequate training for professionals, lack of infrastructure, and teaching-pedagogical resources, especially in communities farther from the capital. Amazonas is no different from this reality due to the large number of isolated communities resulting from geographical isolation. The project presented here aimed to provide the communities with practical experiences on topics related to Astronomy, with the goal of sparking interest and spreading scientific knowledge to everyone who is interested, integrating it into the formation of citizens and their worldview, as well as promoting socialization and healthy group interaction, fostering a more meaningful connection between scientific knowledge and the reality in which they live. Therefore, the research not only enriches the educational experience but also stimulates students’ interest and curiosity, providing a broader understanding of scientific concepts.
