Abstract: The present study directs its attention to understanding the challenges faced by Professional and Technological Education (EPT), especially in the context of the interaction between youth, school and work in the current socio-metabolic state of the capitalist mode of production. Adopting a qualitative and descriptive approach, the research is carried out through bibliographic analysis. The defined study categories include youth, school and work, converging on the discussion about the disparity in the distribution of state resources. As a consequence of this analysis, it is highlighted that the research reveals a clear asymmetry in State attention, highlighting a scenario in which certain sectors receive greater support compared to others. The challenges at the intersection between Professional and Technological Education, youth, school and work are notable, reflecting the urgent need to rethink and rebalance educational and social policies. This study seeks to contribute to the understanding of these complex dynamics, aiming to promote a more inclusive and egalitarian EFA, meeting the diverse demands of today’s society.
