The identity of the modern school, which developed from the 17th century onwards, brought new training needs for teachers. They began to work with complex situations and needed to adapt to the different situations that occurred in the classroom. Over the centuries, many things have changed at school, but this aspect of teacher training remains present. This paper discusses the reality of continuing teacher training which happens within the school, especially in collective work. The aim of the paper is to discuss how the teacher's ongoing training, which takes place within the school, develops from the experience carried out there. The text takes the position that teacher training depends, among other things, on the way the school organizes educational experiences. The role of the school continues to be essentially formative, both for the student and for the teacher. It is concluded that the construction of collective spaces, where teachers can dialogue and exchange difficulties and experiences, is fundamental for the teacher, from whom many skills are required, to develop their identity together with the school.
