The study aims to describe a didactic strategy implemented by the Environmental Health disciplines of undergraduate courses at the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing. The strategy has been implemented since 2010 in teaching about Health Services Waste Management, using the Rotation by Learning Stations system, taking into account the potential and limitations in the field of health education. The learning stations were designed in light of Collegiate Board Resolution No. 222/2018. The laboratory was organized into eight learning stations for classes of up to 50 students. The activities get started with small groups in each station that rotate until the transition is completed through all the stations, with a time of 20 minutes in each one, totaling 180 minutes. Since the beginning of the implementation of the strategy, approximately 770 students and 35 monitors (laboratory technicians and graduate students) participated in the activity. The implementation of this strategy contributes to the teaching/learning of a theme loaded with technical and legal notes, such as the Management of Waste from Health Services. The careful design of the stations reveals potentialities in the development of technical-scientific knowledge (factual, conceptual, procedural and attitudinal) applied in the practice of handling Health Services Waste. It is hoped that the shared experience of implementing this teaching strategy on Waste from Health Services can inspire other active teaching-learning exercises that promote the desired autonomy of students and teachers.
