Abstract

This article analyzes how audiovisual production can reframe the teaching of English grammar in Technical High School education. Grounded in Peircean semiotics and multiliteracies, the study was conducted through Design-Based Research (DBR) within the context of OscarETE, an Educational Product based on video production. The corpus consisted of students’ audiovisual productions and the metaphors they created. The findings indicate that audiovisual production promotes multimodal learning and meaning-making, fostering student agency, collaboration, and meaningful learning. The metaphors revealed meanings related to growth, transformation, adaptation, and the collective construction of knowledge. It is concluded that OscarETE integrates language, culture, and technology, contributing to the redefinition of English language teaching in Professional and Technological Education.
