Abstract

This article presents the context and concepts that underpin the Instant Band format developed within the academic sphere, which performs the sonic in Visual Arts, through the thought of François Zourabichvili, Gilles Deleuze, Nadya Tolokonnicova (Pussy Riot), Joana Burigo, among others. It also discusses the creation process of Instant Band Grrrls and its evolution as Banda de Garotas Instantâneas (Instant Girls Band), as well as the difficulties in forming a band of female visual artists in obtuse times in Brazil and Latin America, with provocative and irreverent lyrics on feminist themes such as the invisibility of women in the field of art, bodily autonomy, ageism, and thus, to make explicit the workings of patriarchy and how all this affected the daily lives of women.

Author Biography

Marion Velasco Rolim, HEN - Hemispheric Encounters / CA

É artista transdisciplinar, trabalha com performance atravessada pelo vídeo, fotografia, arte sonora, música e poesia. Desenvolve pesquisa sobre as manifestações sonoras nas Artes Visuais. É Doutora em Artes Visuais pelo PPGAV|IA|UFRGS (2017), com estágio doutoral em Arte Sonora e Performance pela Facultad de Bellas Artes|UPV|Valencia|Espanha. Tem posdoutorado em performance e política pelo HEN_Hemispheric Encounters|YorkU, Toronto|CA (2022). É Especialista em Performance pelo CNPq|UFRGS (1990). Participou de exposições em cidades do Brasil, Espanha, Alemanha, Canadá, França, Argentina, Uruguai e Chile. Teve videoperformance em exibição na exposição FULLGAS: artes visuais e anos 1980 no Brasil (CCBBs, 2024/2025). Tem performances na coleção do MACRS. Recebeu o prêmio Destaque Artista Trajetória no XIV Prêmio Açorianos de Artes Plásticas (2021). Foi contemplada no Edital SEDAC/PNAB RS 2024 – Música (projeto Banda de Garotas Instantâneas convida banda EX e outras mulheres). Organizou o livro eletrônico Banda de Garotas Instantâneas_performances sônicas e ativismo feminista (financiamento HEN | YorkU | SSHRC/CA, 2023).
