O presente ensaio propõe-se a expor algumas características importantes da prática apropriativa nas artes visuais, da arte moderna à contemporânea, utilizando como objeto de estudo aspectos da obra das artistas Sherrie Levine e Sandra Gamarra e sua representação no que diz respeito a uma prática que se utilize da apropriação como indicadora de uma produção artística contemporânea.
