A EXPERIÊNCIA PURA EM NISHIDA COMO CONHECIMENTO IMEDIATO DA REALIDADE

This article aims to analyze the concept of pure experience developed by Nishida Kitaro, which marks the beginning of modern philosophy in Japan and underpins the Kyoto School. The concept, introduced in the An Inquiry into the Good (1911), proposes an ontological approach based on direct experience, prior to the subject-object division. Nishida rejects the traditional dualism of Western philosophy, as well as both physicalist and idealist views, proposing a unified reality. The article also discusses the influences of William James, who shares the perspective of a philosophy centered on immediate experience, and explores the implications of non-dualism for understanding reality. In this way, Nishida offers an alternative to Western metaphysical thought.
