A TEORIA DA EDUCAÇÃO EM KANT

This research proposes to analyze Immanuel Kant's Theory of Education, based on the concepts of freedom and autonomy. To this end, we will use the texts An Answer to the Question: What is Enlightenment? (1784) and On Pedagogy (1803). To understand the relationship between freedom and morality, an underlying assumption in the reflection involving the role of discipline in the formative process of the subject, we will use the so-called Thesis of Reciprocity presented in the second Critique (1788). In addition to these analyses, in the last section, we propose to use the notions of autonomy and freedom to establish a brief dialogue with the thought of Paulo Freire, using passages from his Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1968) and Pedagogy of Autonomy (1996). It is hoped that this research will demonstrate the importance of recovering Kantian philosophy for possible and current dialogues that can be constructed, highlighting the diversity of issues addressed by the German thinker.
