A BRIEF HISTORY OF BOARD GAMES

This article aims to investigate and provide a brief historical overview of the presence of board games throughout human history, from the earliest bones transformed into dice to modern games in the contemporary world. We presents the first evidence, the oldest preserved games, their derivatives created through European expansion/colonization across the rest of the world, the games following the Industrial Revolution and during the world wars, and concludes with insights into new formats of game publishing, including Eurogames, designer games, and gaming in the new interconnected digital world.
