This article aims to approach, through bibliographical and documentary research, concepts, studies, objectives, ontologically way about the Innovation Ecosystem, as well as to bring an epistemological approach to this object of study. The general objective is to approach the Innovation Ecosystem through epistemology. The specific objectives are to conceptualize epistemology, present ontology and approach a connection of the Innovation Ecosystem and CTS. The methodology that was used, in terms of approach, qualitative research, and in terms of nature, an applied research. As for the methodological objectives, it is a descriptive research and as for the procedures, it is based on bibliographic and documentary research. The structure of the article is divided into concepts of epistemology, an epistemological approach to the Innovation Ecosystem, an ontology presentation, an ontological view of the Innovation Ecosystem and the connection between CTS and the Innovation Ecosystem. It is concluded that having the Innovation Ecosystem as an object, it is approached through ontology, the nature of the Innovation Ecosystem is cognitive, due to be linked with the process of assimilation of information. and this scientific knowledge is proven, epistemology will demonstrate the path through which the Innovation Ecosystem will go on. Regarding the Innovation Ecosystem from the perspective of CTS, the Innovation Ecosystem is a means through there is a connection between Universities, Research Institutions, government and private companies, to produce scientific knowledge, apply this knowledge in technology, and through innovation to improve the economic and social situation of the local community
