Abstract

We seek to present, in an incipient way, process of illness and cure by Pankararu rezadeiras that inhabit the city of São Paulo, in Real Parque, and Brejo dos Padres villagem, in Pankararu Indigenous Land, Pernambuco. Natives concepts like flechada, vento caído, inform us on an understanding of disease as a social imbalance, associated with a cosmic and ecological element, involving the relationship between humans and other entities, such mortos, encantados, enemis. In this way, this research is inserted in debates about processes of formation of person, healthy and shamanism, seeking to understand aspects of corporality, notions of illness and healing.
