Abstract

Considering the often cruel imposition process of what must be preserved and remembered, we intend to expound some dissenting cases in the establishm ent of heritage field that query cultural heritage in light of Public History. The analysis on Brazilian cases in the last five years allows to present how to preserve and to arouse identity feeling are taken as intrinsic premises on cultural heritage. We analyze the frailty of this structure through the inquiry of citizen acts that goes beyond the control of public institutions, updates monuments and proposes fundamental debates on the beneficiaries of heritage.
