PARTY AND RITUAL AT THE NJILAS PERFORMANCE

The paper use a notion presented by Georges Didi-Huberman, applying it to archetypal image of Exu, in the context Brazilian culture. It takes as its starting point the idea that access to the sources of Afro-Brazilian culture have been and continue to be denied to the population, politically and socially, through various devices. From a methodological point of view, the paper use of authors from the field of phenomenology, especially archetypal-based psychology, and references to the imagery of the performance Njilas: dance and forget your pains, as a means of analyzing the intertwining of cultures that occurs in Brazil and how this can serve to enhance or restrict people's free access to their culture.
