Abstract: This article seeks to analyze some aspects of the poetics of the artist Daniel Senise through the examination of six of his works, which demonstrate elements of his creative path, and accompany and determine his procedures, as well as the possible relationships they build with the imaginary of the audience, adding more layers of meaning to the works. Starting his career in the 1980s, informed by the return of painting, the artist was quickly absorbed by the market, with an initial influence from neo-expressionism, but already pointing to the themes that would be recurring to him, of dealing with memories, traces, absences and presences and the mystery. The works analyzed demonstrate how these themes are structured in his creative work and the relationships woven with the public's imagination. The construction of his poetics, present in the works discussed, is constituted together with the intense exploration of different materialities made by the artist, which lead him to abandon the brush and incorporate chance and the elaboration of a relevant concept, capable of translating these operations, of the Shroud-Memory. The article's main theoretical contribution is the texts by Cecília Almeida Salles on the books of Daniel Senise, in the same way as authors such as Bernardo Mosqueira, Maria Carolina Duprat Ruggeri, among others.
